The Opening event of 48th Roshd International Film Festival took place at Felestin cinema with the presence of the Deputy Minister of Education, cultural directors and artists on Friday evening, 15th of November. The Ceremony took place at Outdoor area of  Felestine Cinema.
According to the Public Relations of the festival, Vahid Nikkhah Azadi, head of the festival said: "This is not a formal ceremony for the opening, It’s a friendly gathering that will be held very briefly."
He pointed out to the presence of significant figures of education officials as well as cinema industry at the ceremony. Then the festival's secretary invited    the jury; Stefan Malesevic ( Serbia), Fang Gangliang (China), Elif Ergezen (Turkey), and Matea Milic (Croatian)  who attended the ceremony came to the stage, They were introduced to the audience and expressed their satisfaction with coming to Iran.
Then Vahid Nikkhah Azad introduced Director of Children and youth  Film Festival from Ukraine.
He said that he and his wife came to Iran at their own expense for organizing a workshop and added: "Unfortunately, Media made a picture of Iran for them that they bought burqa before travelling to Iran, ,But by visiting  Tehran and attending the Festival, Their point of views have changed.”
During the ceremony, the folk music group, as well as the Zanguleh music group under the direction of Sajjad Tanha  performed pieces that were welcomed.
The ceremony ended with the screening of  the Oscar winner film ,The Silent Child(2017) and “The Dark Room” directed by Rouhollah Hejazi .
